Endorsed by Mencap, the Voice of Learning Disability, The Label was written for new parents of children with Down's syndrome and overwhelmed by information. The Label, is a real and honest insight into what it means, and doesn't mean, to have a child with Down's syndrome in the 21st century.
"The book's intention is to illustrate that all of our paths are individual and ours to shape and shouldn't be bound by clinical notes in a text book or anyone else's experience." – Caroline White illustrator of The Label
The book has also been made into a small musical which will be performed this year at London's Palladium this year.
10% of proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Mencap. Ivy Press publishes the book this month and can be bought here
