Today’s quote is from oceanographer Sylvia Earle.

Sylvia Earle

{Born 1935}

Dubbed Her Deepness, Sylvia has logged more than seven thousand hours underwater. She has led more than a hundred expeditions to explore the vast and largely unknown reaches of our oceans. Sylvia’s love for exploring came early in her childhood, when her family moved to the Florida coast. She followed that kidlike wonder to become the first female head of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, a pioneer of marine engineering and a National Geographic explorer-in-residence. Today, the bold oceanographer is on a mission to create protected marine zones called “Hope Spots” to save and restore the vital “blue hart of the planet.”
