35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with three days in our London office and 2 working from home.

Quarto Publishing plc is a global publishing business with operations in the UK, US, and Hong Kong.  We are a leading global illustrated book publisher creating more than 600 books a year which are sold in more than 45 countries and in more than 35 languages.

We are looking for an Inventory Controller for up to 12 months parental cover role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Operations team and to support the growth and development of the business.

About the Role

You will take responsibility for the management of inventory in our UK distribution centre. Combining analytical skills and commercial insight, you will liaise with teams across the business to ensure the effective delivery of demand planning and forecasting as well as carrying out a set of shipping related tasks. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will use your resourcefulness and creative thinking to find effective solutions and support continuous improvement of key processes.

The main responsibilities include

  • Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing stock
  • Forecasting of supply and demand requirements to ensure stock availability
  • Analysing and modelling data to ensure optimal inventory integrity
  • Working with the Operations team to maintain a consistent, efficient inventory and stock control process
  • Management of overstocked lines and titles approaching “end of life”

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Previous experience of Inventory management would be desirable
  • Advanced level Excel skills (including V-lookups, Pivot Tables in order to analyse large amounts of data)
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to use initiative and be decisive working with tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Keen to evolve in a changing environment
  • IT proficient, with good knowledge of MS Office
