A World of Muslim Weddings, both from Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, and The Hello Atlas from Wide Eyed Editions have been selected as part of the Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People 2017 in the US. This annual cooperative project of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) and the Children’s Book Council aims to gather “an annual reading list of exceptional books for use in social studies classrooms, selected by social studies educators.” Read More.

Publishers Weekly reports that over the past three years, Quarto Publishing Group, USA has focused on growing its cookbook list. In 2012, it had 35 food and cooking titles, many on what were then considered niche subjects like vegan cooking and low-sodium food. Today, the press has tripled the number of titles on its list to more than 100. And it launched a new initiative, This Is Your Cookbook, to allow consumers to produce and print high-quality hardcover cookbooks with their own or favorite Quarto recipes. Read More.
