Fun Family Activities | 5 August 2016DIY Temporary Tattoos Share article facebook twitter google pinterest As kids we could buy temporary tattoos out of a vending machine for twenty-five cents, but did you ever think of making them on your own? Creative Painting & Beyond shows you how to turn your own design into an awesome tattoo! After Converting your lettering or illustration to digital format, try making these fun DIY temporary tattoos! Choose the type of tattoo paper that corresponds to your printer. For example, the tattoo paper I use is for inkjet printers. Each kind of tattoo paper comes with its own instructions for application. MATERIALS: • Illustrations • Tattoo printing paper • Scissors Step 1 Prepare your printer to print onto the tattoo paper. Read the tattoo paper instructions carefully, as you might have to recalibrate your printer for a paper with a different texture and weight. You also want to check to ensure it will print on the right side of the paper! Once you’re set, print your illustration. Allow the ink to dry fully. Step 2 Cut around your design so that the tattoo is easy to apply. Step 3 Apply the tattoo onto a clean area of skin with the ink side facing the skin. When applying the tattoo, start at one edge and gently roll the design gradually onto the skin to avoid creases. Enjoy your hot new tattoo! TIP: You may also want to use a washcloth and warm water to clean the area of skin before applying. This will help the tattoo last longer.
