New iPad App: Learn to Draw Digital Sketchbook by Walter Foster

January 13, 2011
MEDL Mobile, Inc., a leader in mobile development, has created a whole new category of application with the introduction of the Learn to Draw Digital Sketchbook by Walter Foster. The Digital Sketchbook combines art, technology and education to offer users a series of step-by-step lessons-while providing the complementary digital tool set-to actually learn to draw complex subjects directly on the Apple iPad. The "Learn to Draw" app will take a timeless tradition into the 21st century and ensure its longevity well into the 22nd.

The app is available now in the Apple App Store for $2.99. Featuring easy step-by-step drawing guides , the "Learn to Draw" app will teach users how to create realistic digital renderings. The app comes with four free drawing lessons, including a dragon , horse, portrait and flower. Additional drawing lessons are available from within the app, which makes continuing on to the next lesson simple and accessible. Through the lessons, users will also learn the fundamentals of drawing, such as how to block in a sketch and how to develop detail-skills that you can use while drawing traditionally with pencil and paper. Users can also use the app to create their own original works of art.

For more than 88 years Walter Foster has produced quality art instruction books on everything from landscapes to figure drawings. Walter Foster is the leading art instruction publisher in retail outlets such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Aaron Bros, AC Moore, and most independent art & craft stores. Walter Foster books are also available in traditional and online bookstores, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

MEDL Mobile is known for its exceptionally intuitive approach to user interface design, and the "Learn to Draw" app is no different. The graphics closely resemble their real-world counterparts and maintain the aesthetic of the original "Learn to Draw" books. The user has the ability to modify each drawing tool to suit his or her preferences.

Features include:
·         Text and voice instruction for every lesson
·         Comes with four sample lessons-a dragon, horse, portrait and flower
·         Realistic drawing tools
·         Drawing tools are adjustable in size, pressure and hardness
·         Background paper options
·         Freehand drawing mode
·         Save drawings to your iPhoto library and share with friends via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter
