The gym is often confusing and the options endless. Finding workouts that actually bring results can be even harder. Enter 365 WOD’s: Daily Workouts for Home, at the Gym and on the Road by Blair Morrison. Morrison is a personal trainer and CrossFit Games finalist, so he knows stuff. Here are a few WODs to jumpstart your exercise routine. Better yet, these require no equipment or gym membership, just the weight of your own body. Good Mornings (Standard): Start with feet at hip width and hands behind the head. Keeping your weight on your heels and knees slightly bent, shift your hips backward until the hamstrings begin to tighten. At no time should the spine round forward. When you feel the hamstrings tighten, pull the hips forward until you return to a fully upright position. Adding weight to this exercise does not change the fundamental technique of it, only the placement of the load. Most commonly the weight will be loaded across the back similarly to a back squat. Repeat with the left foot and right arm. The arms should remain locked out at all times while the legs can bend as needed. At no time should all the weight be on the arms or the legs. It may help to tuck the chin. Holding this position tightly, begin rocking the body forward and back. Never touch the heels or the shoulder blades to the ground.
