Special Diets | 23 December 2016Salted Dark Chocolate–Dipped Clementines Share article facebook twitter google pinterest A treat that is sweet, salty, and fruity…what else could you want?! These yummy Salted Dark Chocolate-Dipped Clementines from Paleo Sweets and Treats are a winter indulgence you won’t have to feel guilty about. I’m like a little kid waiting for the arrival of the box of clementines to hit the market. These cute little fruits are my favorite of the orange family. They’re easy to peel, have no seeds, and are loved by kids. They are the perfect snack, and dipping them in dark chocolate and a little salt turns them into a decadent treat. 3 clementines, peeled and segmented 3 ounces (84 g) dark chocolate (90% cacao or unsweetened), chopped ½ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt or sea salt Line a baking sheet with waxed paper and set aside. Prepare a double boiler by setting a glass bowl over a pot of simmering water, but do not let the bowl touch the water. Melt the chocolate in the bowl until smooth. Remove from the heat. Dip half of a Clementine segment into the chocolate, coating thoroughly. Rest the segment on the baking sheet. Sprinkle a pinch of salt on the segment—a little goes a long way. As another option, you can also sprinkle with unsweetened shredded coconut. Once all the segments are dipped and sprinkled, refrigerate until the chocolate is set, about 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy. Clementine segments can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
