My favorite place for hunting down new recipes to try at the moment is in the pages of several World War 2 era cookbooks I was just given.

  • http://www.blogger.com/profile/06756180452191304667 Shari

Over the last 50+ years I have gathered together a great collection of cookbooks. I find myself thumbing through these – just like novels – almost everyday. I love cookbooks! They are the source of most of my inspiration. However, the food channels on cable have begun to take up a lot of my viewing time, lol. Thanks for the opportunity to add these great books to my reading list.

I have a folder that has family recipes in it that I refer to often. I also search the web, usually more common sites like food network, etc.

If it's a recipe using a specific ingredient I search the food blogs I follow (Punk Domestics, Well Preserved, Food In Jars, Coco & Me, David Lebovich). If I can't find it there, I hit up Martha Stewart or Pinterest. If I'm looking for a specific type of recipe I head over to BBC Food (on their main website) or Google it. I may also skim, or leave messages on, the FB pages under my 'growing' interest list. Recipes that I've already used are in my cookbooks. (I said 'hi' over on FB under Jonquil Alexia) Also signed up for your newsletter (jonquilsgrdn. etc, etc)

  • http://www.blogger.com/profile/04713824685051007635 Anna

I love looking for recipes on blogs!

  • http://www.blogger.com/profile/06949121417267449682 Sheila

First I'll look through my recipes bookmark folders – as I come across recipes that look good on blogs, etc., I bookmark them in folders for each category such as chocolate cookies. If I don't find what I want in my bookmarks, I usually google it and see what I get. Smitten Kitchen is my favorite food blog.
